Self consolidating concrete (SCC)

Self consolidating concrete (SCC) also known as self compacting concrete, is a highly flowable, non segregating concrete that can spread into place, fill the formwork and encapsulate the reinforcement without any mechanical consolidation.

SCC is a highly fluid, non-segregated concrete with a slump / flow of 20 to 30 inches. SCC can be easily placed and completely fills the forms under its own weight without mechanical vibration consolidation. Self-Consolidating Concrete (SCC) adding value during yesterday's batching operations at our Wilmington, MA facility. SCC takes stress off our production teams, is safer to pour vs. conventional mixtures that require the use of vibration equipment, and makes our process more efficient.

the use of self-consolidating concrete (SCC) can facilitate construction in in regions of high seismicity, detailing requirements can result in heavily congested sections.

self-consolidating concrete (SCC) is more cost-effective than conventional concrete, is specified for both horizontal and vertical applications. It can be used for slabs, elevated decks, ultrathin floors (typically used in condo projects), radiant flooring, and repair toppings/overlays. In vertical applications, SCC is used for walls, new columns and repairs to columns and bridge decks.
