HOW TO CALCULATE SHUTTERING AREA

Formwork helps pour concrete to shape desire. Different types and sizes of formwork are used in the construction of buildings for the construction of different elements having (different shapes).

In this article, we will see how to calculate the formwork surface before construction.

The calculation of the formwork is done with m² in the analysis of the formwork rate. To measure the formwork surface, it is necessary to know the process of calculating the peripheral length (perimeter) of any shape.

Below, some essential formulas for measuring the formwork surface:

Perimeter of the square: 4S (S is the length of each side)

Perimeter of the rectangle: 2 [L + B] (L & B indicates the length and the width)

Perimeter of the circle: 2Ï€r (r designates the radius of the circle)

Rectangle surface = length x width

Square surface = side x side

Let me give you an example

Before calculating the break zone first, we need to know how to calculate the peripheral length of any shape.

PERIPHERAL LENGTH / PERIMETER:

We know that the perimeter is the distance around a 2D (two-dimensional) shape.

For example, the square has four sides. Let s be the length of one side, then

The peripheral length = 4s

The rectangle also has four sides, but the length and width are different, leave one side of length "l" and the width is "b"

Peripheral length = l + b + l + b = 2l + 2b

Now coming to the calculation of shuttering area.

Shttering area = Pheripheral length * Depth

Let me give you an example

Pheripheral length = (2 * 1) + (2*0.9) = 2 +1.8 =3.8

Total shuttering area = 3.8 * 5 = 19 sq.m
